Gray Western Electric 50-H loc R5-5

Gray #50H, 5 cent prepay automatic payphone or paystation from Detroit. This antique telephone was made for the Bell System, it is equipped with Western Electric coin relay, dial, 706 receiver & 635 "bulldog" transmitter. Otherwise like the 50G the 50H was made to also take Canadian coins. The coin chute was upgraded in the 50s (partial 10 cent conversion). The upper and backboard are cast iron. Note the 1B instruction card holder. Also note the coin deflector attachment behind the dial.
